Commenting on today’s announcement, Deputy McHugh highlighted “the hard work that schools do on a daily basis in order to maintain a high standard and the best learning environment for students and I welcome today’s announcement that St Joseph’s National School has been successful in their application.“I also welcome confirmation that SN Naomh Colmcille were successful under the Emergency Works Scheme. This funding will allow key health and safety work to be carried out at the school and with the Department receiving so many similar requests, with a limited budget available, I commend the schools on all their hard work.”“Last week, the Department of Education and Skills confirmed that Cashel National School, Fanad, has been successful in their application for much needed funding to repair the building’s roof through the Emergency Works Scheme.“While these successful applications for funding are a welcomed result, there are still many challenges facing schools in Donegal, especially small schools. There was very positive news last week that both Gartan and Glenmaquin National School were successful in their appeal to retain a teacher but many others are facing similar situations and I will continue to work with principals, board of management’s and teachers in highlighting at a Government level the impact that losing a teacher can have, not just on the school and the students but on communities as well.”  TWO DONEGAL SCHOOLS GET FUNDING FOR UPGRADES was last modified: June 27th, 2014 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)last_img
