IPL 2019: Rishabh Pant objects after Shreyas Iyer decides to withdraw run-out appeal

first_imgRishabh Pant overrode Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer’s decision to withdraw a run-out appeal against Deepak Hooda in the IPL 2019 Eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Vizag on Wednesday. Iyer was happy to let it go and he allowed Hooda to continue but Pant was having none of it.In the final over of the Sunrisers Hyderabad innings, Deepak Hood missed a slower ball outside the off-stump from Keemo Paul but ran for a quick bye – Rishabh Pant collected the ball and threw it at the other end. However, Hooda collided with Paul who was looking for the ball. In the process, Deepak Hooda collided with the bowler and slipped.The umpire immediately asked Shreyas Iyer if he wanted the appeal to stand. After he allowed Hooda to continue, Rishabh Pant came down to the captain who then decided to let the appeal stand.Earlier in the evening, Shreyas Iyer was in the limelight because he tossed the coin all too soon even before Sanjay Manjrekar completed the pre-toss formalities.Delhi Capitals bowled superbly for most of the Sunrisers Hyderabad innings.
