Vancouver man in court in arson case

first_imgA 38-year-old Vancouver man wanted since March for allegedly lighting a bed on fire while his mother was inside their home appeared Thursday morning in Clark County Superior Court.Judge Derek Vanderwood granted an arrest warrant against Michael Grant Fuller on March 30, based on a charge of first-degree domestic violence arson.Court records show that authorities couldn’t locate Fuller for the alleged Feb. 11 incident and opted to obtain a warrant due to concerns for the victim’s safety, and Fuller’s history of failing to show up to court for prior criminal cases.According to a probable cause affidavit, Fuller was upset and lit his bed on fire in his bedroom while his mother was in the house. His mother extinguished the fire before it spread.“Michael (Fuller) told his mother, you can put that one out, but I’ll come back tonight and start another one while you’re asleep,” the affidavit says. The Clark County Jail’s inmate roster shows Fuller was booked Thursday.Judge Robert Lewis set Fuller’s bail at $20,000 during his first appearance. Fuller will be formally arraigned on the charge Sept. 13, court records show.last_img
