Junior AFL players need financial help

first_imgThese 13 players are part of the Under 16 PNG AFL PNG Binatangs players who have been selected to join other talented junior AFL players in the Pacific to make up the South Pacific team.The team will compete in the Queensland State U/16 Championships and also attend the South Pacific Talent Camp in Australia.     It will be held from April 26  to May 3, 2016 at Burpengary Sports Complex and the Yeronga AFL Park, North Brisbane.The players are; Kelly Kaugla (Pom) Douglas Junior Lai (Pom), Sylvester Wesley (Hagen), Hewago Oea (Pom), Apex Paul (Pom), Terry George (Lae), Charliong Gilipa (Lae), Sipa Ramu (Lae), Mathew Jesse (Hagen), Justin            Murava (Kavieng), Jonathon Bagot (Kavieng), Elizah Boas (Kimbe), and Dominic Wario (Lae).The levy fee is K1,200 for an individual player, and the total cost for the 13 boys to travel is K10,000.The money will be used to pay for their travel and accommodation.For more information call the AFL PNG office and ask for William Yogomin (AFL PNG talent manager).last_img read more

Peace Region could see first snowfall of season Thursday night

JOHN, B.C. – Parts of the Peace Region and Northeastern British Columbia could see the first snowfall of the season.According to Environment Canada Meteorologist, Doug Lindquist, there is a cold air mass moving across the region from the Yukon and Northwest Territories that has the potential of bringing snowfall.Some higher elevated areas, such as Fort Nelson and the Pine Pass, could see 5 to 10 centimetres of snow overnight and into Friday morning.- Advertisement -Lindquist also says Fort St. John and south to Dawson Creek has a chance of seeing mixed precipitation Thursday night and into Friday.Over the weekend, the temperature is expected to remain cool with daytime highs of between 3 to 6°C and a risk of frost for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night reaching lows of -6°.According to Environment Canada, temperatures are expected to gradually warm-up to the mid-teens early next week.Advertisementlast_img read more
